CECE WINANS – Renowned gospel icon and multi-Grammy award winner CeCe Winans will take stage at the Detroit Lions’ 86th annual Thanksgiving Day Classic on November 27, performing the national anthem ahead of the matchup against the Green Bay Packers. The holiday tradition will also feature an electrifying halftime performance by Detroit native Jack White, powered by Verizon.
Throughout the game, the Lions will highlight a donation-based initiative supporting Feeding America®. The team previously announced that global rap icon Eminem and his long-time manager and Shady Records president, Paul Rosenberg, will serve as Executive Producers of the halftime show alongside Jesse Collins Entertainment.
The Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Classic presented by Ford will air nationally on FOX at 1 PM EST.
OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE BACK TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY
For the first time, the Detroit Lions will partner with Feeding America and invite people watching at home to make a monetary donation to help ensure everyone has access to the food they need to gather around full tables this holiday season. Viewers will be encouraged to visit www.feedingamerica.org/tackle to donate. Nearly 50 million people in the U.S., including almost 14 million children, experience food insecurity. The Detroit Lions and Feeding America aim to raise enough funds to help provide 5 million meals* to make sure every family can share the warmth, comfort and joy of a full table this holiday season.
A PARTNERSHIP FOCUSED ON CONNECTION
Verizon is tackling food insecurity by giving fans the chance to pack hunger-relief kits outside of Ford Field on gameday. Volunteers race against the clock to pack donation bags faster than Verizon’s ultra-fast network. The high-energy activation will be in the Detroit Lions pregame tailgate space Pride Plaza on Brush Street, and open from 10 AM-1 PM.
